Our Plan & Strategy

The medical device industry has long struggled with a fragmented, expensive, and often unfair vendor credentialing system. Hospital access shouldn’t be controlled by profit-driven gatekeepers who prioritize revenue over genuine safety and efficiency. That’s why we created medkeyONE – a revolutionary approach to hospital vendor credentialing that puts power back where it belongs: in the hands of the medical professionals and companies who serve patients every day.

Who We Are

medkeyONE is built by medical device industry veterans who understand your challenges because we’ve lived them. Our founding team includes experienced medical device executives and distributors, supported by a surgeon advisory panel, strategic investors, and retained legal counsel. We’re not outsiders looking to profit from your struggles – we’re industry professionals just like you who decided to build the solution we all need.

If the current credentialing system was fair, ethical, and provided real value, we wouldn’t be doing this. But it’s not, so we are.

A Different Kind of Company

medkeyONE operates as a decentralized member-owned cooperative. This isn’t just a business model choice – it’s a fundamental commitment to serving our members rather than enriching shareholders.

Member Ownership Means Real Protection:

  • Single annual membership fee with built-in price protection
  • Yearly increases capped at the inflation rate
  • All price increases require majority membership approval
  • Acquisition or merger protection requiring majority shareholder approval
  • Built-in safeguards against private equity takeovers

What Makes Us Different

Data Security You Can Trust

Your confidential business data stays confidential. Period. Only hospitals can see your check-in history and activity. We don’t sell, share, or monetize your information with third-party data brokers or companies. We also don’t participate in or integrate with Repscrubs or similar platforms of dubious value.

True Standardization

  • One National Passport ID: Use a single photo ID credential at any participating facility nationwide
  • Standard Compliance Modules: One HIPAA module, one safety module, one ethics module – no redundant training or hidden fees
  • Unified National Service: Simple, safe, and fully transparent credentialing across all participating hospitals

Transparent Operations

No hidden fees, no surprise charges, no opaque business practices. As a member-owned cooperative, our operations and financials are transparent to our membership.

Our Strategic Roadmap

Building from the Ground Up

We’re starting where change happens – with surgeon and nurse champions at individual facilities. These clinical leaders understand the current system’s problems and can drive adoption of better solutions.

Multi-Pronged Approach

  • Legislative Advocacy: Working with elected officials to address systemic issues in vendor credentialing
  • Strategic Targeting: Focusing initially on public hospitals and surgeon-owned ambulatory surgery centers
  • Large System Focus: Targeting major hospital systems where one victory creates access across multiple facilities

When Necessary, We’ll Fight

We’re prepared to pursue litigation and class action lawsuits against vendor credentialing companies that engage in anti-competitive practices. Sometimes change requires legal action.

Media and PR Campaigns

We’re committed to exposing the kickbacks and unethical practices that plague the current system. Transparency and accountability are essential for real reform.

Partnership with Device Companies

We’re working with large medical device manufacturers to include medkeyONE access in their supplier agreements. If hospitals prohibit medkeyONE usage, credentialing costs will be passed directly to the hospital customer.

Flexible Access Levels

Understanding that not everyone needs the same level of access, we offer clinical access options for company leaders and clinical support teams who visit hospitals occasionally rather than regularly.

The Time for Change is Now

The current vendor credentialing system is broken. It’s expensive, inefficient, and often serves the interests of middlemen rather than patients, healthcare providers, or medical device professionals. medkeyONE represents a fundamental shift toward a system that’s fair, transparent, and truly serves the medical community.

We’re not just building a better credentialing platform – we’re creating a member-owned cooperative that can never be sold to private equity, never prioritize profits over people, and never lose sight of its mission to serve the medical device community.
